Which Streaming Providers Have Increased Prices in 2026? Tracker

Here is the latest on who is charging you more in the UK and US.

Are we paying too much for TV?

I’ve pulled this tracker together because streaming prices have started to feel like tiny leaks in a monthly budget. One pound here, one dollar there, and suddenly the “cheap” TV stack is not cheap at all.

My rule is simple: if an app is not earning its place on your home screen this month, it should not be earning a direct debit. If you want to cut costs, also read my guide on the best cheapest streaming options right now.

01 The 2026 Pricing Landscape

A tracking graphic showing which streaming platforms have raised their subscription prices in 2026
Our tracker showing the confirmed price bumps and major UK market changes across streaming platforms this year.

As of 2 July 2026, the clearest confirmed price rises in this tracker are still Paramount+ in the United States and Crunchyroll in the United States and selected international markets. Paramount+ moved its US pricing in January, while Crunchyroll’s new US monthly prices applied to existing subscribers from the next billing date after 4 March 2026.

The UK picture needs a bit more care. Paramount+ UK pricing remains listed across Basic, Standard and Premium tiers. Crunchyroll UK pricing checks still show Fan at £5.99 and Mega Fan at £6.99 per month. HBO Max is now live in the UK too, but I am treating that as a market change rather than a price rise, because there was no old HBO Max UK plan to compare it against.

“The headline monthly price is only half the story. The bill that catches people out is usually the annual renewal, the sports add-on, or the deal that quietly ends.”

That is why this guide separates three things: confirmed price rises, current UK pricing, and big platform changes such as TNT Sports moving into HBO Max. Mixing those together makes the numbers look neater, but it does not help anyone actually trying to cut their bill.

02 Paramount+ US Price Hikes

Paramount+ was one of the first major providers to move in 2026. The US changes took effect on 15 January 2026, and the current US pricing now shows Essential at $8.99 per month and Premium at $13.99 per month. The annual plans are $89.99 for Essential and $139.99 for Premium.

My honest read: the $1 monthly increase is annoying, but the annual Essential jump is the one that stands out. Going from $59.99 to $89.99 per year is the kind of change people notice when the renewal email lands.

United States Changes

If you pay monthly, here is what changed:

Essential (ad-supported): Increased from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. Premium / Paramount+ with SHOWTIME: Increased from $12.99 to $13.99 per month.

The annual plans had the bigger percentage jump:

Essential Annual: Increased from $59.99 to $89.99 per year. Premium Annual: Increased from $119.99 to $139.99 per year.

For sports fans, Paramount+ has more to point to now, including UFC, NFL on CBS and UEFA Champions League coverage in the US. For everyone else, this is a good moment to ask a boring but useful question: did I open Paramount+ enough last month to justify keeping it this month?

03 Crunchyroll Changes

If you rely on Crunchyroll for anime, this is the other major confirmed 2026 rise to watch. Crunchyroll announced its membership pricing update in February 2026, with existing US subscribers seeing the new prices from the next billing date after 4 March 2026.

This one feels different from a general entertainment streamer. If anime is your main comfort-watch category, Crunchyroll is harder to replace than a service you only use for one or two shows.

United States Changes

The regular monthly prices for the three main US paid tiers rose by $2 per month. I am not counting short-term promotional offers here, because they are temporary discounts rather than normal ongoing prices.

Fan Tier: Increased from $7.99 to $9.99 per month. Mega Fan Tier: Increased from $11.99 to $13.99 per month. Ultimate Fan Tier: Increased from $15.99 to $17.99 per month.

One useful change is that the Fan tier now includes offline viewing on one device. That does soften the increase if you watch on commutes, trains or flights, but it does not change the basic point: the regular US monthly price is higher than it was before March.

United Kingdom Changes

For UK readers, I am keeping the sterling prices separate from the US dollar prices. Current UK pricing checks show two main monthly tiers:

Fan Tier: £5.99 per month, with annual pricing at £59.99. Mega Fan Tier: £6.99 per month, with annual pricing at £69.99.

That is the safer way to read it: the US price rise is the clearest official announcement, while the UK section reflects current UK price checks and should be rechecked before renewal.

04 What About the UK?

For UK readers, the headline is not simply “everything has gone up.” It is more useful to split the market into three buckets: Paramount+ UK pricing, Crunchyroll UK pricing, and the HBO Max/TNT Sports move.

Paramount+ UK

Paramount+ UK remains listed across three main tiers. I have added the annual prices here as well, because that is usually where the real saving or sting shows up:

  • Basic with Ads: £4.99 per month or £43.99 per year
  • Standard: £7.99 per month or £70.99 per year
  • Premium: £10.99 per month or £97.99 per year, with 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos where available

Crunchyroll UK

Current UK pricing checks show Crunchyroll Fan at £5.99 per month and Mega Fan at £6.99 per month. Annual pricing is listed at £59.99 for Fan and £69.99 for Mega Fan. Because Crunchyroll’s public announcement is clearest on the US monthly tiers, I am keeping these UK numbers in their own section rather than blending them with the US change.

HBO Max UK

HBO Max is now live in the UK. This matters for a price tracker because it changes the way British viewers compare entertainment and sports streaming costs, especially now that TNT Sports streaming sits inside the HBO Max ecosystem.

  • Basic with Ads: £4.99 per month
  • Standard with Ads: £5.99 per month
  • Standard: £9.99 per month
  • Premium: £14.99 per month

TNT Sports is available in the UK as a standalone HBO Max plan at £30.99 per month, or £25.99 per month on a 12-month Saver plan. HBO Max also lists TNT Sports bundles with Standard with Ads, Standard and Premium plans. I am treating this as a major UK market change, not a direct price rise against an old HBO Max UK plan, because HBO Max launched here on 26 March 2026.

“My advice for UK sports fans is to compare the bundle against what you actually watch. A Saver plan can lower the monthly number, but the 12-month commitment only makes sense if you know you will keep using it.”

05 July 2026 Check-In: What Changed Since Publication?

This tracker was first published in February, so the July refresh is about cleaning up the distinction between actual price rises and platform changes. That distinction matters because a higher streaming bill can come from a price hike, a new bundle, an expired offer, or simply keeping too many apps running at once.

Confirmed price rises: Paramount+ US and Crunchyroll US remain the clearest 2026 increases in this tracker. Crunchyroll UK is still listed separately because current UK pricing checks show Fan at £5.99 and Mega Fan at £6.99 per month. Paramount+ UK: No matching 2026 US-style increase is included here. Current UK pricing remains Basic with Ads at £4.99, Standard at £7.99 and Premium at £10.99 per month. Major UK market change: HBO Max launched in the UK on 26 March 2026, with entertainment plans from £4.99 to £14.99 per month and TNT Sports options available separately or in bundles. Temporary deals: I do not count short-term offers as permanent price cuts. A two-month discount is useful, but the ongoing price is what matters when the promotion ends. What to watch next: Keep an eye on annual plans, sports bundles and “Saver” commitments, because those are where a cheap-looking monthly price can become harder to undo.

07 Frequently Asked Questions

Which streaming services have raised prices in 2026?

As of 2 July 2026, Paramount+ and Crunchyroll are the clearest confirmed 2026 price increases in this tracker. Paramount+ raised US monthly and annual plans, while Crunchyroll raised the regular US monthly price of Fan, Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan. Crunchyroll UK pricing checks also show Fan at £5.99 and Mega Fan at £6.99 per month.

Have streaming prices gone up in the UK for 2026?

The UK has not had the same confirmed 2026 Paramount+ price rise covered here. Paramount+ UK remains listed at £4.99, £7.99 and £10.99 per month across its three main tiers. Crunchyroll UK pricing checks show Fan at £5.99 and Mega Fan at £6.99 per month. HBO Max also launched in the UK in March 2026, changing how entertainment and TNT Sports streaming bundles compare.

When did the 2026 US price increases take effect?

The Paramount+ US increases took effect on 15 January 2026. Crunchyroll’s US increases applied to existing subscribers from their next billing date after 4 March 2026.

Should I count temporary discounts as lower prices?

No. For this tracker, I separate temporary offers from normal ongoing prices. A short introductory discount can be worth using, but it does not reverse a permanent price rise once the promotion ends.
