Does Freddie survive Season 2?
Yes. Freddie (Adam Abbou) is still alive at the end of This City Is Ours Season 2. He narrowly escapes the Phelan family’s revenge, but his story does not end with an escape to Ireland. Instead, he hands himself in and is arrested for Rachel Duffy’s murder.
The distinction matters. Freddie survives, but his future is far from happy. The Season 2 ending leaves him in police custody rather than dead or on the run.
That is the central outcome of the Season 2 finale. The person behind Freddie’s dangerous decisions, Ozzie Thompson, faces the Phelans’ retaliation instead.

Ozzie betrays Freddie by revealing his location. Jamie and Bobby pursue him, but Freddie gets away.
Freddie chooses to surrender
Rather than flee to Ireland, he follows Diana’s advice, goes to the police and is arrested for Rachel’s murder.

Does Banksey die, or is his death fake?
Banksey’s death is staged. Felipe demands that Michael kill Banksey in retaliation for Ricardo’s murder. Michael makes it look as though he has carried out the execution, but Banksey survives and reappears.
That deception has devastating consequences. Freddie believes his dad has been killed and becomes an easy target for Ozzie’s lies. By the time Banksey can come back into his life, Freddie has already crossed a line he cannot undo.
The crucial difference: Banksey survives the fake execution, while Rachel’s death after Freddie’s shooting is real. This is why the Phelans want revenge.
Why don’t the Phelans kill Freddie?
The Phelans initially see Freddie as the person responsible for Rachel’s death. Ozzie even sells them information that helps them track him down. But Michael and Banksey argue that Ozzie engineered the disaster by manipulating Freddie and putting a gun in his hands.
By the finale, the gang redirects its revenge towards Ozzie. Freddie is not let off the hook, however. He is arrested and faces the consequences through the criminal justice system. Radio Times’ finale explanation confirms that Michael and Banksey negotiate for Freddie to be spared.
