Netflix Raises Prices Across All US Plans in March 2026
Netflix has increased pricing across its American plans again, pushing the ad-supported tier to $8.99 and Premium to $26.99.
Another Netflix price rise has landed in the US
Netflix has now raised prices across all of its main US plans again. That means the American side of the story has moved from prediction to confirmation. If you want the broader context around where prices might go next, my earlier piece on whether Netflix will increase prices in 2026 is still useful, but this page is focused purely on the confirmed US hike and what subscribers need to know now.
01 What Changed
Netflix has increased prices across all of its US subscription plans. The standard plan with ads has gone up by $1 a month, the standard ad-free plan has gone up by $2 a month, and the premium plan has also gone up by $2 a month.
The move follows Netflix’s January 2025 increase and continues the long-running trend I broke down in my complete history of Netflix price hikes. In other words, this is not a one-off wobble. It fits a pattern.
The headline: Netflix has raised prices across every main US tier, and it has also increased extra member pricing.
02 The New Netflix Prices in the US
Current Monthly Prices
- Standard with Ads $8.99/month
- Standard $19.99/month
- Premium $26.99/month
Extra Member Pricing
- Add 1 extra member on Standard $7.99/month with ads or $9.99/month without ads
- Add up to 2 extra members on Premium $7.99 each/month with ads or $9.99 each/month without ads
Worth remembering: Netflix’s old Basic plan has already been discontinued in the US, so the service is now effectively steering people towards Standard with Ads, Standard, or Premium.
03 When Will Existing Members See the Higher Price?
For new customers, the new pricing is already live. For existing members, Netflix says it will send an email one month before the billing date on which the higher price will kick in.
That means not everyone will be hit on exactly the same day. It depends on your own billing cycle. If you subscribe through a partner bundle or package, Netflix says the notification may come through that partner instead.
What to check now
- Your current plan Ads, Standard, or Premium
- Your billing date Check payment history in your Netflix account
- Your extra members These now cost more too
04 What This Means for Subscribers
On paper, the increases are not enormous. In practice, Netflix is now pushing the premium tier towards a price point that feels more like a full entertainment utility bill than a casual add-on. The ad-supported tier is still the cheapest main route in, but it is no longer quite as cheap-looking as it was.
If you are trying to work out whether the service is still worth it, my full Netflix review is the better place to look at value rather than just price. This page is more about the news itself.
The bigger point is that Netflix is clearly still confident enough to keep nudging prices up. That does not automatically mean every market follows at the same speed, which is why my separate article on whether Netflix will increase prices in 2026 still matters for the UK side of the conversation.
